Darren Sugiyama founded Omakase Man in 2013. After spending thousands of dollars on custom suits and expensive Ready-To-Wear brands like Tom Ford, Darren decided to start this passion project – a uber high-end men’s custom tailoring company for the discerning gentleman with exquisite taste. Every element of design is based on the unique proportions of the gentleman’s frame and build.
Designed by Darren Sugiyama personally, each client is measured by Darren himself. Each fitting takes Darren over an hour to just to do the measuring.
The term “Omakase” is taken from sushi masters wherein the patron relinquishes all control to the one who knows how to construct the ultimate dining experience. There is no menu. There are no special requests. In Omakase, the sushi master controls the entire experience for the patron.
With Omakase Man, Darren interviews the client to find out what type of business they are in, who their ideal client avatar is, what message they want to send to the world regarding their skill, and based on this interview, Darren builds the client the ideal wardrobe. He takes no requests and does not care about client preferences. He takes control and builds clients the best wardrobe like a master.
